Standard Mitel NuPoint Unified Messaging (UM) - Mitel's standard NuPoint UN is a low cost, full-featured and flexible unified messaging solution.

Mitel NuPoint UM 640 - Mitel's NuPoint 640 UM provides carrier-grade reliability and resiliency and extends to hundreds of thousands of users in centralized or distributed networks. It can be provided as a single server solution that provides cost effective service reliability to small and medium businesses. Alternatively it can be supplied as a multi-server solution for highly flexible service reliability for large businesses.

The Mitel NuPoint Unified messaging solution is a flexible, integrated voice and fax unified messaging system that users can access anywhere, anytime. NuPoint enables access to a host of flexible and adaptable applications including Call Director, Speech Auto-Attendant and the Microsoft Office Live Communications server.

The main advantages of using NuPoint to individual users are:

- Receive their voicemails and emails through one interface

- Manage their messages in outlook

- Phone into the Mitel NuPoint server and listen to voicemails and emails whilst out of the office

These help to simplify the users experience and increase productivity.

Mailbox users access these capabilities through the NuPoint Telephone User interface (TUI) or Outlook (using the NuPoint outlook client plug in). Using the Outlook client plug in, users are able to record, playback, forward and reply to voicemail messages. Text to Speech (TTS) provides users with the ability to listen to their email messages through their NuPoint voicemail.

NuPoint is part of the Mitel Applications Suite or as an individual solution and can expand to provide voice applications to large businesses that demand high capacity, high availability and resilient services.

NuPoint can be used to:

- Make calls to colleagues or departments quickly and efficiently by saying the name or telephone number of the person/department

- Page a mailbox owner when a new voice message arrvies. NuPoint also supports SMS notifcation so users can receive a text message to their mobile telling them they have a new voice message.

- Allow callers to leave a voicemail message or input a number to call back on which is then displayed on the owner's pager.

- Schedule automatic wake up calls to any phone at any date and time.

- Record messages and then distribute them to multiple colleagues.

- Deliver new, unplayed messages to a nominated internal or external phone number.

- Route calls to pre-selected destinations based on time of day, day of week or day of year.

- Perform mailbox maintenance, system maintenance, report generation and call director management from a web-based console.

- Control voicemail functions through context-sensitive keys on the phone.
