Features of the Mitel 3300 Telephone System

This is a summary page for the features of the Mitel 3300 telephone system.

This IS NOT an extensive list of the features - if you require a comprehensive list, please get in touch. As you would expect, most telephone system features are included (eg paging, listening in, Do not Disturb etc etc).

The feature set is delivered by the Mitel MCD software (Mitel Communications Director). Advanced features are also available by deploying the MAS (Mitel Applications Suite). More detail on some of the individual features of the system can be found on the other pages of this website.

Note some of the features span more than one 'topic' due to their integrated nature so be sure to read this page to gain a good understanding.

Some of the key features are;

Remote Working - The Mitel 3300 Telephone system is particularly strong for your business if you have remote or home workers. The Mitel teleworker solution is the perfect product for businesses with remote offices or home workers. It is quick and easy to install with any of the standard IP phones associated with the Mitel 3300 telephone system. Users can also have soft phones deployed (eg on their lap tops) removing the need for a physical handset. Users can even be part of a contact centre and work remotely providing maximum flexibility.

Voicemail - The embedded Mitel 3300 voicemail system is an all encompassing multi-language, business grade voice messaging system. It enables users to easily and conveniently manage their voice messages and mailboxes. It provides all the features you would expect from a premium system including voicemail to email, automated attendant etc. Handsets have message waiting lights which light to alert you that you have a new message.

Call Recording - As standard, the system allows you to record a call on demand without any additional expensive solutions. The recordings are merely saved into your mailbox for playback, archiving or forwarding to any internal extension. As voicemails can be forwarded as emails, this also alows forwarding to any email address of course.

Mitel UC Mobile - The Mitel UC (Unified Communicator) mobile uses one single phone number and a single voice mailbox to enable users to have access to the business communications features they need, anywhere, anytime. A user's desk phone is twinned to their mobile (or even a landline). Once the call is received on the twinned phone, common features such as hold and transfer can be used as if the user was working from their desk phone. Users can easily change their 'twinned device' destination.

Mitel Dynamic Extension - The Mitel Dynamic Extension feature means that users will not be tied to their desks. Whether they are on their mobile, at their desk or working from home customers can dial one number and the user can take the call from any device. This is a unique feature as far as we are aware.

Conferencing and Collaboration - The Mitel 3300 telephone system provides multiple choices of conferencing including, audio and web conferencing, the Unified Communicator Advanced (UCA) and the Unified Communicator express. All of these help your business to be more efficient and productive. The Audio Web Conferencing is particularly useful and, in fact, can be used on any system - not just the Mitel 3300. Broadcast, MeetMe and interactive group conference calls as possible. The Mitel Your Assistant provides a soft phone which allows file sharing and provides presence features and secure chat.

Phonebook and Directory - Like all systems, the Mitel 3300 allows you to upload your company phone book for quick and easy access. Unlike most systems however, access is extremely easy and intuitive.

Music on Hold - Included as standard, the system allows you to play music when callers are on hold - note external licences normally apply (PPL and PRS).

Hot Desking - Rather than be tied to a specific handset, your colleagues and staff can hot desk across your business, regardless of the site they are working from. Once logged in, their personal profile is immediately sent to the phone logged in. Furthermore, with the External Hot Desking feature, a user can hot desk from anywhere, regardless of whether they are on an extension of the system - this includes any telephone number on any line or other systems extension anywhere in the world.

Multi-Tenancy - Ideal for serviced offices and business centres, up to 64 tenants can be set up on the system so it appears as if each tenant has their own telephone system.

Unified Messaging - Available as part of the optional Mitel Appications Suite, Unified Messaging is deployed in the form on Mitel's Nu-Point feature which unifies the delivery of e-mail, voice and fax communications via one interface, improving productivity.

Computer Telephony Integration (CTI) - Integration with your CRM or database system is done through Mitel's Unified Communicator (UC). This is a server-less desk top client that allows users to click to call plus screen pop the incoming caller's client screen. It also provides call history details plus personal directory integration with Microsoft Outlook including Active Directory and public instant message presence engines. This is the UC Express product. UC Advanced adds presence features using secured Instant Messaging, audio conferencing plus video and data collaboration. The UC Advanced product also provides an open API so that third-party CRM and database applications can be integrated. UC Advanced also allows users to set their own call handling preferences.

Instant Messaging and Presence - This is delivered via Mitel's Intelligent Directory Application that enables users to access Contact, Calendar and presence information across the whole business Presence is delivered by Microsoft Live Communication Server to the desk top and the phone display. Further Mitel's Live Business Gateway delivers presence features of other users on the network.

Wireless and Premises Mobility - If your premises dictate that users need mobility across your site rather than be tied just to desk phones, the Mitel 3300 can be deployed with integrated IP DECT or Wi-Fi solutions so that cordless phones can be provided to the staff that need them.

Formal Contact Centres/Call Centres - Mitel 3300 offers 3 variants of contact centre functionality - Business Edition, Enterprise Edition or the Flag Ship Commander Contact Centre.

Informal Contact Centres - If your business needs to deal with calls effectively and be able to measure and manage call information, but does not require more advanced Call and Contact Centre type functionality, the Mitel Customer Service Manager delivers just that.
